About us
Fuvalom
The Fuvalom Music Band is an a capella band performing Hungarian folk songs while adding some instruments at times.
They consider their songs important from several aspects, talking about their musicality, their functions in their original, traditional contexts and their contents. They try to pay attention to preserve the significant aattributes of folk songs. Their purpose is to present the immense beauty of Hungarian folk music, but also showing how these compositions can be connected to our personal life. They believe that singing from one’s heart makes one reborn and is able to deepen any kinds of feelings. If someone can experience it alone, that’s a miracle. However, experiencing this together is a way larger miracle. And this is fairly enough to sing for a life.

Fun Facts
How did we get to know each other?
We could say that we picked each other.
Firstly, we were friends. We had some awesome time together, hiding our laughing faces during university lessons, or hitchhiking through the Carpathian Basin, letting our hair down in folk parties, crying to each other or just sharing the littlest moments of our everyday lives.
As time went by our friendship interwove with our professions. After living together the hitchhikes, bold street music times and playing at folk parties somehow we noticed that we must sing together professionally. That’s how our band was formed. We’d like to sing about what we’ve been living through together.
I mean how could we keep these so many things inside?
What lies behind Fuvalom?
Fuvalom is an ancient Hungarian word which means waft. In Fuvalom we would like to grasp the kind of waft which brings songs, but not any kind of song, the one that comes from the deepest part of our human heart – where land and sky meets.
Our Music Credo
In these songs such sheer life-essence lies that it is worth tasting it each time again and again. Our living conditions have changed and so did our items and speed, but our basic questions did not change at all. It is really exciting dealing with these questions from thousands years of distance.
In what do we differ the most and in what are we on the same page?
Our temperaments differ the most from each other, however, we totally agree on performing only those kinds of songs which we find true for ourselves and authentic. We don’t want to make big compromises between our style and consumability.
